Route

Before creating BI ETHIC, Nhât Anh Bardou studied in France. A graduate in architecture, she worked in this field in Paris for several years.

The story of his childhood easily explains this journey with an unusual turn. Nhât Anh was born in Vietnam where she spent the first eight years of her life. An adoption by a French couple then turned her life upside down by propelling her to an unknown country for an uprooted but pampered girl.

This dive into the West was a real shock for the happy little girl that was Nhât Anh in Vietnam. She lived there happily without the slightest toy. In France, she kept her joy of living so communicative but this time surrounded by a quantity of objects which she measures today… the excess. And which were almost all almost superfluous.

It is from this contrast between two worlds that gradually arose a mad desire to create fair trade from recycled materials.

How she got here

Before creating BI ETHIC, Nhât Anh Bardou was educated in France. With a degree in architecture, she worked in this area in Paris for several years.

This drastic change in her life can be explained by the fact that Nhât Anh was born in Vietnam, where she spent the first eight years of her life. After that, she was adopted by a French couple which provoked a happy change, sending her to an unknown country where she would be pampered and spoiled.

But this immersion in the West was a complete shock to the cheerful little girl that was Nhat Anh Vietnam. In Vietnam, she was used to living without toys. After her adoption, she kept the same joie de vivre which she had in her home country, but now she was surrounded by an excess of toys and other acoutrements that she was not used to having before. In fact, to the little Nhat Anh, all of this seemed superfluous. For her, it was this juxtaposition of both childhoods that made her want to go create such things from her French upbringing to the whole world in a fair and world-first manner.

An economy with human and environmental value.

In search of a balance between the two cultures that have rocked her all these years, Nhât Anh Bardou, set out to give birth to her first baby, BI ETHIC, based on UP-CYCLING.

Its credo: deal directly with independent artisans in order to establish a more human relationship; to create a real exchange between the Far East and the West; reduce intermediaries and thus increase the remuneration of these men and women.

"Environment and Human Focused Progress"

Searching for a balance between the two cultures that raised her, Nhât Anh Bardou, threw herself into a new field by giving birth to her first baby, BI ETHIC, a company which is based on the UP-CYCLING mantra, “Nothing is wasted, everything is transformed ”!

BI ETHIC's personal take on this mantra is: work directly with local artisians, to create a fruitful exchange between the far east and west, while never failing to respect both men and women's equal rights.

Transform the beast into a beauty.

Recycling has always been a way of life in Vietnam. It remains so but now tends to disappear.

Yet local know-how is still as talented. It blends harmoniously with contemporary western design. From this marriage is born a daily metamorphosis, that of waste into several series of objects of great beauty.

All BI ETHIC products are thus made from recycled materials, made entirely by hand, in limited and numbered production.

Tranforming the Beast into Beauty.

Recycling has always been a core value in the Vietnamese culture, but due to a recent upswing in Western lifestyle this value-set has slowly started to disappear. Moreover, there is an extremely talented artisan culture.

It is this these two elements that BI ETHIC will marry, by creating small batches of beautiful products that are produced by hand with local artisan labor and from 100% recycled materials.
